Dedicated to the memory of Anne Thomas

Anne Thomas, formerly of Ivy Leaf and Redwood Grove, Bude.

Anne joined Malcolm in his native Cornwall (himself a Cambourne School of Mines alumni) for their happy  retirement years after busy careers running an international mining business and raising four children.

They lived both at Ivy Leaf and Redwood Grove. Anne soon joined Malcolm, alongside the late Paul Mayor, in officiating as 'chief band booker' and treasurer at The Bude Jazz Club. The  Bude Jazz Festival and Carnival filled them with joy each year.

After Malcom's sudden passing in 2007, Anne bravely faced long term illness among the happy company of friends in her favourite places around Bude:  especially The Falcon, Rosie's and The Olive Branch. She worked tirelessly as a mental health champion in the town including setting up 'Nit and Natter' in the Information Centre. This support group became a lifeline for so many.

With failing health , Anne finally headed back to live near her children in Worcestershire in 2014, but still managed to round off her lifetime of love, care and superb management skills by volunteering weekly at a mental health hub in Worcester called Aspie. Anne also bravely cared for her eldest David until his passing in 2017.
